Throughout the week of May 1, UIC held commencement ceremonies for the graduating classes of 2024, with well over 6,000 students celebrating the achievement of completing their degrees. Of that number, 1,800 were graduates from the seven health sciences colleges and, including people who graduated in December, UIC can be proud to have educated and graduated a total of nearly 2,400 healthcare professionals who are embarking on careers of transforming the practice of compassionate and equitable healthcare.
“As the City’s only public research university we have embraced our social responsibility to foster and support all our students, from diverse backgrounds, to achieve dreams of becoming health professionals and biomedical scientists to better serve our communities,” said UIC Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs Dr. Robert Barish. “UI Health trains numerous physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists – and many other health care providers. You represent the next generation and you are already living legacies of our mission to transform and improve the healthcare landscape for the future.”
