UI Health Recognized as “High Performer” for LGBTQ+ Inclusive Care

For the ninth year, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has recognized the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics for providing inclusive patient-centered care to the LGBTQ+ community. In the HRC’s 2024 Healthcare Equality Index, the hospital & clinics were rated at 100% for the categories of:
- Non-discrimination & staff training,
- Patient support & services, and
- Employee benefits & policies.
The 2024 index surveyed a record 1,065 healthcare facilities, and UI Health received an overall rating of 95, which the HRC designates as a “high performer”.
UI Health is dedicated to removing barriers to care for LGBTQ+ patients and providing the accessible, affirming healthcare services they need and deserve. The LGBTQ+ Inclusive Care team is committed to delivering compassionate, inclusive care for the unique needs of LBGTQ+ patients.
The hospital and clinics also has a dedicated LGBTQ+ Patient Navigator who works to address the concerns of patients and advocates for systemic changes within our health system to help eliminate the health disparities faced by LGBTQ+ patients.
