UI Health in Top Seven Percent Nationally for EHR Implementation

UI Health has been recognized by the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) as having achieved the highest level of system maturity for electronic health records (EHR), in both inpatient and ambulatory environments. Nationally, only seven percent of hospitals and clinics have achieved that designation.
This honor is a result of UI Health’s transformational 3i Project. Short for “Integrated Information Infrastructure,” the 3i Project saw an enterprise-wide implementation of the Epic EHR platform, enabling UI Health to expand and optimize care delivery, achieve more efficient revenue-cycle solutions, and engage patients with digital health tools. With the further integration of Epic Cosmos, UI Health researchers now have access to and are contributing to a nationwide health data set that is high quality, integrated and representative, and can be used to facilitate discovery and advance health equity.
