UIC College of Dentistry Faculty Honored for Work at RefugeeOne Dental Clinic

The American Association of Public Health Dentistry is a national organization dedicated to improving oral health in underserved communities. At the RefugeeOne Dental Clinic, student doctors provide essential dental treatment under the supervision of trusted UIC faculty members.

The student-run clinic operates on Saturdays, giving students the opportunity to gain clinical experience while serving community members in need. A recent event honored faculty volunteers who supervise students at the clinic and introduced the program to dental students interested in participating. Approximately 60 people attended the event.

Faculty members from the UIC College of Dentistry who were recognized at the seminar included Drs. Brian Homann, Esther Lopez, Jeff Kramer, Kay Henry, Kevin King, Robert Rada, Qian Xie and Bhakti Desai.
