UI Health Honored for Community Commitment by Illinois Legislative Black Caucus

During the 2025 Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Policy Summit, the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Science System was honored with their Guardians of the Next Generation Award, along with 29 other hospitals who serve communities in need.

As recipients of these awards, UI Health and its children’s hospital were recognized for intentional dedication to ensuring that our communities have a future that is healthy and strong, emotionally, physically and mentally. On Saturday, October 4 Dr. Phyllis P. Hayes, UIC assistant vice chancellor of external engagement, accepted these awards on behalf of UI Health.
