Rockford High School Students Get Firsthand Experience in Scientific Research

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford opened its lab doors to host its annual STEM Camp, welcoming 20 brilliant high school students from across the greater Rockford area.

The immersive, week-long program was designed to pull back the curtain on advanced scientific research and give students a genuine taste of life in a professional laboratory. Moving beyond textbooks, the campers jumped into various scientific disciplines hands-on, exploring diverse realms of biomedical research alongside our dedicated team.

From mastering lab techniques to discovering potential future career paths, these talented young minds brought incredible energy and curiosity to the Rockford campus. The college was thrilled to help inspire the next generation of scientific innovators right here in our community!
