Deepening Global Partnerships to Forge Innovation in Research and Discovery

UIC has signed an agreement with Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in Ireland focused on bilateral collaboration in research, clinical training and innovation at the intersection of urology and medical technologies. The partnership will create opportunities for joint research, faculty exchanges, co-hosted scientific events and translational research in minimally invasive surgery and medical technologies.

In another example of international synergies, Dr. Nathaniel Tran of the School of Public Health participated in the Young International Visiting Scholar Program at the University Academic Alliance of Taiwan. Tran’s own work examines how public policy shapes outcomes for LGBTQ+ populations. In Taiwan he forged collaborative ties with researchers working on the country’s first national LGBTQ+ health survey.
